Are you interested in exploring a new part of the world? If so, then you might want to consider turning your attention towards Malaysia. Malaysia is a bustling, beautiful example of the modern urban world mixed with an incredible wild outdoors to explore. Here are just some of the reasons why Malaysia should be next on your travel list.

Wonderful Architecture

If you’re a fan of architecture, then you’ll discover a lot to love around Malaysia. For instance, you might want to think about taking a trip to Kuala Lumpur. This is one of the best places to admire modern architecture and we’re not just talking about the skyscrapers. You can also wander through the famous Golden Triangle district. There are countless examples of modern architecture around this place including the KL tower. This does provide a great viewing deck.

Exploring The Tea Plantations

Or, you could think about visiting the tea plantations. You’ll find these located in the Cameron Highlands. These are quite close to the highest part of the country which makes them the perfect place for plantations due to the temperature. You will be able to take a guided tour here and visit one of the nation’s largest tea companies. You might also want to think about hiking through a plantation or you could enjoy the local teas. These are available at some of the smaller plantations around the area.

Incredible Religious Monuments

If you are interested in exploring the past, then Malaysia certainly has a lot to offer. In this part of the world, you will be able to discover incredible monuments and relics of religions. Plentong is the best place to stay if you are interested in exploring and seeing monuments like this. There are some great places to stay around here too. As such, you won’t have to worry about issues with poor accommodation. Luxury awaits regardless of whether you choose a hotel or an apartment that you can rent out.

Amazing Hiking Experiences

If you don’t mind a few long walks, then Malaysia also has some lovely places where you will be able to go hiking. Hiking can be great fun and it could be another chance to spot some incredible wildlife. The hiking routes here are perfect whether you are a beginning or have a lot of experience traversing different routes and exploring exciting locations.

Of course, if you want the best hiking experience in this part of the world, then we recommend that you explore Mount Kinabalu. You’ll find this in the state of Sabah. It has multiple routes to explore and hike which pass through different zones of vegetation at various levels of elevation. It can not be stressed enough that this is quite a long hike. You’ll find that you need to spend a total of two days hiking and there’s also a night of camping in between two. It’s definitely not something that can be considered easy but for those with the right level of skill and fortitude, it could provide a solid payoff.

Delightful Animal Encounters

Or, you might want to go to Malaysia for some animal and aquatic experiences. The first place to go for this type of adventure would be the capital city. Here you can actually discover wild monkeys roaming the streets. Regardless of whether you love animals or not this is an undeniably cool site.

If that’s not enough then when you visit the tea plantations, we encourage you to head for a trek. You might, if you’re lucky discover a panther out there. While incredibly rare, it’s not unheard of for people to spot panthers on hikes such as this.

Or, you could head to the coast of the country. If you go to the coast, then you’re in for a real treat. There are countless places that will be perfect for diving or snorkling. The best part about snorkling is that you don’t need a massive level of experience to enjoy it or get the most out of it. Anyone can enjoy this type of activity.

When you go snorkling you’ll get to see a lot of different aquatic wildlife too. This includes reef sharks. Though these might seem dangerous they are actually quite harmless. You don’t have to worry about these little guys biting off your toes, that’s for sure.

Go Cave Exploring

Alternatively, you might want to consider exploring some incredible underground caves. The best place to do this will be in Sarawake on the island of Borneo. Here, you’ll discover Gunung Mulu, National Park. The park actually dates back more than 3000 years and there are some incredible cavers to discover here. You might want to think about exploring the garden of Eden, the Wind Caes or the Turtle Cave. These can also be found around the park. Be aware that these caves will require you to bring both rapel and flashlights. As such, they may not be suitable for newcomers to this type of adventure. However, if you already have a little experience cave exploring it could be the perfect choice for you.

Discover A Diverse Culture

Finally, you might want to think about thinking about visiting Malaysia due to the diverse culture that is present here. Over the years, this place has attracted people from all over the world with various different ideologies and religious beliefs. This has impacted development in the location as well as things like the food. For instance, you’ll find that the food here does capture the flavors of indian cuisine. So, don’t be surprised when you notice the hints of chilis and curries, particularly in the mixed rice dishes. You’ll also find evidence of the different cultures when you speak to the people too. Locals here are always delighted to speak to tourists and ensure that they feel at home.

We hope this helps you understand some of the key reasons why Malaysia could be a great place for you to visit. From enchanting locations to exciting culinary options and much more, it’s a country that you need to check out at least once in your life.
