Still, for Americans accustomed to paying heavily for healthcare out of pocket, Singapore’s integrated public system and private hospital network represent a genuine upgrade in peace of mind.
2. Taipei, Taiwan: Affordable, Safe, and Quietly Exceptional

The yen’s relative weakness through much of 2024 and into 2025 also made Tokyo meaningfully more affordable for Americans earning in dollars, effectively stretching purchasing power well beyond what headline cost-of-living data alone might suggest.
8. Da Nang, Vietnam: A Coastal City on the Rise
Da Nang presents an inviting lifestyle for remote workers, thanks to its beautiful beaches, lively ambiance, and warm locals, with accessibility to healthcare and local amenities adding to its appeal as a prime choice for remote work in 2025.
