Should you buy all wheel drive? One of the biggest fears of anyone who drives is having their car go off the road. No one wants to slip in bad weather conditions, either water or ice. Does that mean you should get an all-wheel drive car? It depends on what you are looking for in your car.
There are many all-wheel drive options in cars these days. In the past, basically, the only options were to have a rough and rugged 4×4 or to have a front wheel drive car. People might have wanted some of the features that the 4 wheel drive vehicles offered, but they wanted a more stylish, more smooth riding car. Now, with all-wheel drive, they can have both. But should they buy one? All wheeled drive offers added stability in poor weather conditions as well as dry weather. It offers an added safety benefit to most cars. Even luxury cars are starting to add in an AWD option. While AWD does add in a sense of security, it doesn’t mean that the car can drive in any weather. AWD does not affect the braking ability of a car. It does give more traction to a car when it is accelerating, when it comes to stopping, it does not change the car’s ability or lack thereof, to stop when driving in poor conditions.
