A lot of people think of New Orleans when they think of Louisiana. But there are so many other amazing places in Louisiana. Baton Rouge has some fantastic places for families to stay and play. Interstate Dodge is happy to be part of the Baton Rouge community and all of the family friendly things to do in Baton Rouge.

I have gathered some fun places that have deals going on for families to check out while living or visiting Baton Rouge. No need to break the bank just because you want to have some fun with things to in Baton Rouge.

Laser Tag is fun for everyone, with the exception very small ones. To play laser tag, everyone gets a laser gun and puts on a vest. From there you enter the maze and shoot people on the other team. The goal is to get the most points as a team and you earn points by shooting other people’s lights and also by shooting a target.

Tour the USS KIDD_ Louisiana Veterans Museum. This is a huge destroyer boat that you can board. This ship was one of 175 Fletcher-class destroyers that were built during World War 2. Now it is the centerpiece of a memorial dedicated to the the men and women of the Armed forces. You can even book an overnight stay to see what it was like living aboard a naval ship. The first Sunday of the month admission is free or use the link to get a deal.

Try a zipline adventure. Zip Nac is surrounded by swaying trees and fresh air. It has 5 ziplines full of adrenaline-pumping speed gliders that takes 90 minutes to explore the treetops.  You can even rent go-pro camera to record your adventure.

Tour the St. Joseph Plantation. During the sugar cane plantation tour, you’ll see original slave cabins, a school house, a blacksmith’s shop and many other structures. The plantation has been owned by the family for 135 years.

Get some energy out. There are fun places for kids to get jumping like Sky Zone, a giant trampoline indoor park.

Go to Kart Ranch. With go-karts, Bump’n Blast bumper boats with water cannons,  18-hole mini-golf course with waterfalls and fountains, 7 state-of-the-art batting cages. Water Wars lets players pelt water balloons at each other from behind battle stations. Looking for indoor fun, play in the indoor playground with slides, obstacles, tunnels, and our famous ball pool and more. There is even huge arcade and game room where you can take home prizes.

Have you tried a scavenger hunt? There are lots of different scavenger hunts to choose from in Indianapolis: Urban Scavenger Race, Self-Guided Baton Rouge Scavenger Hunt and Operation City Quest.

T.R.E.E. House Children’s Museum: The T.R.E.E. House Children’s Museum lets kids see the world as the place of full wonder and excitement. There is a lot of hands-on educational exhibits that lets kids discover all kinds of things from gross science experiments like kidney juice and inspecting owl pellets, to the life cycle of a frog, to exploring a miniature Rockwell Railroad, to what life is like in other countries. There are even hands-on projects on Saturdays that will teach kids things that they aren’t learning in school like weaving and the science behind fruit.

Get wet. Take a river rafting ride or a kayak tour of the Bayou.

There is no shortage of fun things to do in Baton Rouge.
