Between being a mom to 4 kids who are all involved in activities or work, I spend a lot of time in my car. We always have somewhere to be. To make things worse, we tend to eat in the car and the girls always bring toys in the car and it does not take long for the car to be filthy. Because no one wants to be stuck in a car that is filthy and smells bad, I have to make sure I stay on top of keeping it clean.
Start by giving the car a nice vacuum. Vacuuming the car keeps it from getting dusty and moldy. Be sure to get into all of the crevices and between the seats. These are the places that tend to get the dirtiest. It collects the dust and dirt, as well as the crumbs and even pet hair if you travel with your pets.
Spills happen. Clean them up. I swear there is not a trip in the car that my kid shave not spilled something. I finally had to put a rule that there can be no milk in the car because that is just an awful smell. The best thing to do is to make sure you clean up any kind of spills as soon as they happen. Each time something gets spilled in the car it makes things smell worse. By cleaning tings up right away, it keeps the stains from setting in and adding to the smell in the car.
