My family loves jumping in the car and just seeing where we wind up. Some of our day trips are spontaneous and some of them are planned out. Sometimes we have left the house with just a plan to do a certain thing but not at a certain place, like miniature golf but at someplace we never went before and we would just drive until we found a new one. Believe it or not that can actually take hours to do sometimes, when you let the kids decide if you make a left or a right.
Being in South-East PA, we are close to Central New Jersey and have often headed out that way for a day outing. Central New Jersey has one of our favorite amusement park, Six Flags Great Adventures. It is the only amusement park around us that has all the state of the art rides that leave you begging to ride again, but also has this incredible safari zoo as well. You drive through it like you are truly on safari. The animals are so close. The monkeys are jumping across the cars and the giraffes are pressing their sweet little noses right up against the glass of your car. You are going so slow so you get to see everything. It is truly just a breath taking experience.
We have spent the afternoon at iPlay America, which is an indoor theme park in central New Jersey. This was a planned trip, but I wish we had planned more time and the kids keep talking about going back. We had the best time. It has go-karts, laser tag, bumper cars, arcade games, food, and a theater.
There are so many things to do in central New Jersey that many people haven't heard of. Many people just think the only thing to do as a family in New Jersey is going to the shore, but we do so much more.
