If you are like me, you have spent many hours over the Spring and Summer getting your yard looking beautiful. I get out there at the first signs of Spring and work all summer keeping it looking great. I weed it. I make sure the grass gets cut. I feed it so that it grows nice and green. I love seeing the yard look beautiful. The winter comes and everything turns brown. Then in Spring the hard works begins again. Did you know there are steps to take now that will make it easier and keep your yard healthier?

Many people think that the lawn care stops once the cold and frost start up. But that isn’t the case. Winter is really tough on your bushes, trees and plants and by taking a few steps now, it will help everything to thrive in the Spring.

    1. Cut back old, dead branches and stems. It makes everything look better, but it also gets rid of any fungus spores and removes any pest eggs.

2.Compost the area and mulch. This keeps the area looking great and as the compost and mulch decomposes, it will feed and nourish the area.

    3. Cut away an dead plants from the evergreen ones.

    4. Use these tips from TruGreen.

Did you know that you can sign up for TruGreen lawn care service now so that at the first sign of spring, one of the TruGreen specialists will already have you in the system. They can be out on your lawn before you even know it’s time to begin spring lawn care?

What do you do to get your yard ready for the winter?
