As your kids are growing up, there seems to be one milestone that makes parents nervous and makes the kids anxious to reach. Driving. It seems to be one thing that kids want more than anything. When it is time to get teens their learner’s permit, some families are not sure what to do.
Find out the age in your state. Age varies from state to state, so check with your state to see at what age your teen can get their learner’s permit. Some state it can be as low as 15.
Get a driver’s training manual. The Driver’s book are available at DMVs and I have seen them in many post offices. This is the first step in getting a permit. The kids need to read and study the rules and laws in order to pass the written part of the test.
Get the app. There are now many apps available to help kids study. Once they have read the book and feel that they are close to being ready, they can use these apps to help test themselves. The apps are set up much like the actual test so the kids can tell what they still need to work on. The app even tells them what their grade is so they know if they would have passed or failed the exam.
Get the paperwork. There is an application that needs to be filled out in order to get a driver’s permit. Some states require that the hopeful driver have a physical paper filled out by the doctor as well. Fill out the application and gather the documents that you need. My state requires a birth certificate, social security card and proof of residence, which was just my license.
