Los Angeles has such an array of things to be able to do and see. There seems like there would not be enough time for it or even money in some cases. West Valley Chrysler Jeep wants you to experience Los Angeles but they also don’t want you to break the bank while doing it. I have a list here of free things to do around Los Angeles.
Griffith Observatory and Griffith Park – The observatory sits on the south side of Mount Hollywood and looks over the Los Angeles Basin. It gives some great views of the surrounding area. It also has some great exhibits and an even more amazing planetarium.
Rodeo Drive – You may remember this infamous spot from “Pretty Woman”. Even if you don’t have the money to be shopping in these stores, the shops are very used to people just coming to look. So don’t be afraid to just go down and check out the stores and see what they are all about.
Santa Monica Pier and Beach – This beach is one of the sunniest boasting 340 days of sunshine a year. It was also the backdrop to the show “Baywatch” and has a really great night scene and some amazing food. Santa Monica is a walkable part of town, but many suggest that you enjoy it on a bicycle. One of the most scenic rides is along the 26-mile bike path, which runs parallel to the Pacific Ocean and is the longest beach bike path in the world.
Hollywood Walk of Fame – The free-to-enjoy Hollywood Walk of Fame, where hundreds of movie stars have left their handprints and signatures along the sidewalk, is something that you will definitely want to see while you are here. The attraction is open to the public 24 hours a day, and most of its activity and notable names are located between the 6800 and 6900 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard.
Runyon Canyon Park – Two blocks from Hollywood Boulevard, Runyon Canyon Park is often overlooked. It offers some amazing views and you can see the San Fernando Valley and the Pacific Ocean, as well as the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory from the top There are also several hiking trails located here. The Canyon is free to visit from dusk until dawn, but with no one to enforce the hours, you will need to make sure someone knows that you are out on the trails so that they can expect your return. In addition to the park’s trails, you’ll find a nature center, picnic tables, a children’s play area, and limited (but free) parking.
These are just some of the free things that you can experience when you are in Los Angeles. You don’t have to drop a whole lot of money to enjoy some of the best things about the city.
