I remember when I got my first car my brothers told me there were certain things I needed to check on my car every month. At 16, I thought they were nuts. These days, after paying for car repair bills, I know they are right. You know the old saying an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I have learned the hard way. These days, since we head out on a road trip at least once a month, I always check before we are ready to hit the road.
Check the oil.
Check the transmission fluid.
Check the windshield wipers.
Check the Power steering fluid.
Check the brake fluid.
Check the tire pressure.
Check the tire tread.
Check all the bulbs.
