What do you do when there’s no food at home? It can be pretty frustrating when there’s nothing in the kitchen, and no food is materializing, no matter how many times you open and close the cabinet doors. You don’t want to go out grocery shopping, and maybe there aren’t even any grocery stores open, so what can you do instead? Fortunately, you have several options if you still want to eat. Some of them may take a little more effort than others, but they should all get you fed. Try the following ideas if you have no food at home.

    Go Out to Eat

If leaving the house is no problem, but you just don’t want to have to buy groceries and return home to cook, eating out could be your best option. Sure, it’s more expensive than buying groceries sometimes, but it’s also low effort once you’ve found somewhere to eat. Or, if you do want to make an effort, you could spontaneously dress up and find somewhere a bit fancy for dinner. Going out to eat is a fun activity to do as a couple or a family, but you can also go alone. In fact, dining alone can be a lot more fun than you think, especially if you take a book with you.

    Get Recipe Inspiration

Is there really no food in the house, or is there just nothing that you can immediately throw together? You might have food in your home, but you’re not really sure what to do with it. If this is the case, you can look for some recipe inspiration. At Giadzi, you can find some ideas for what to cook when you have certain ingredients. Even if you don’t have everything that you need at home, it can encourage you to get out and buy the missing ingredients. You could have more useful ingredients than you think.

    Order Takeout

For those who don’t feel like cooking but also don’t want to leave home, there’s always the option of ordering takeout. It’s often one of the more expensive options, especially if you have to pay for delivery, but there’s no harm in it every once in a while. When you order takeout, you can have whatever you feel like, and you don’t have to go to the effort of cooking. Sometimes only ordering your favorite food for delivery will satisfy your hunger.

Invite Yourself to Someone Else’s Home

This option might be a bit cheeky, but it’s definitely open to some people. If you have friends or family members who are always open to you dropping by for lunch or dinner, it’s a great way to get a free deal when there’s no food at home. Of course, it’s also a good opportunity to see some of the people you love, plus you can return the favor at a later date if you want to show your appreciation.

When there’s no food at home, you have other options to make sure you can feed yourself. Don’t resort to eating dry crackers because it’s all you can find.
