This Italian Sausage and Pepper Penne is a quick, flavorful pasta dinner the whole family will love. Easy to make, budget-friendly, and done in 30 minutes!
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook penne according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2 – Cook the Sausage
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage and break it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes.
Step 3 – Add Veggies
Add the sliced peppers and onions to the skillet. Cook until soft, about 6–8 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
Step 4 – Simmer the Sauce
Pour in the marinara sauce and sprinkle in the Italian seasoning. Stir everything together and simmer for 5 minutes. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
Step 5 – Combine and Serve
Add the cooked penne to the skillet and toss to coat. Let everything cook together for a couple of minutes so the flavors blend. Serve hot with grated Parmesan and fresh herbs if you like.
