Hi everyone. I am Debi, the owner of The Spring Mount 6 Pack. I started this blog in 2009, right before my youngest daughter, Willow, was born. This site and I have been through a lot in those 9 years.
Our Mission
We are on a mission to bring more fun into family life. Things get so busy and many parents find themselves just getting by instead of having fun and making memories with their kids, their partners or just missing out on creating stories to tell their family and friends. That is why we turn everything into a fun moment. We try to laugh during everything. We share travel adventures and family fun. Simple recipes and craft, along with things to make life easier.
So what does The Spring Mount 6 Pack mean?
Well the name started as a joke. When I moved to Spring Mount, the town of about 2200 people, has no post office, about 6 stop signs, no post office, but it has 4 bars. And my neighbors would bring out bags and bags of beer cans to recycle. So that was the joke behind the name. But at the time it was myself, my (now ex-) husband and our 4 kids, so we made up the 6 pack.
Since then, I have gotten divorced, moved, fell in love with my soul mate, and we have 6 kids together. So lucky for me, one 6 pack gave way to another, and I am the happiest I have ever been in my life.
However, we are in the process of a name change. I love The Spring Mount 6 Pack, but as we have grown, we have sort of outgrown our name. In the following months, we will become Our Wabi Sabi Life. It means perfectly imperfect and that fits us perfectly
About me
My family comes first, In every way. I love to eat. I love to travel. I need my coffee. I always want to play with the newest tech toys. My pets are like my babies, and I love to get my hand on things to do. I am a bit obsessed with the craft store and can not go in with my credit card. I will buy everything I see.
My goal in life, and on this blog, is to make life easier. We all have so many things that we have to do, that it can be hard to find time to do the things we want to do. I want to spend my time having fun, eating, crafting, traveling the country, finding new experiences and making memories with my family.
Besides blogging on The Spring Mount 6 Pack, I also have a food blog at Mama Loves to Eat. What can I say, sometimes I get a little crazy and forget I only have so much time in a day. There is another blog in the making which will be a food blog. <sigh> Whenever I have time to work on it.
Meet my Partner in Crime
He is really is. It even said so in our wedding vows. This is Don. I have known him almost my whole life. He is now my husband, the love of my life and the person who supports me completely, no matter how crazy the idea is. Actally the crazier it is, the more he is into it. We are always creating adventures whether it is date night in the park under the stars, taking the kids on a road trip, or turning our beat up full size van into a camping van or restoring an old camping trailer.
In May of 2015, 2 weeks after we started dating, Don was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. As you can imagine, that was a not so pleasant surprise. We plan to write occasionally about this journey in hopes of helping others dealing with the same issue.
Our Kids
Together we have 6 kids. Only the youngest 2 still live at home. Donny (his oldest son) and Anthony (my oldest son) are 21.
Next is Harley (his) and Joey (mine), both 20. Joey and his fiance just had a baby, Ziggy. He is my first biological grandson and I am truly heads over heels for this Little Bit.
Serenity is 14. She is into all things girly and a bit obsessed with her phone. She is extremely smart and excels in school. She is also an out-of-this-world cheerleader. She is so strong and has this never quit attitude when it comes to cheering and tumbling.
Willow is 8. This kid gives me a run for my money. She is crazy smart. She comes out with words that leave us speechless. She is also into cheering and tumbling but she has a more relaxed approach. She is usually found outside, looking for different bug, running around or trying to climb a tree.
