A Family-Friendly Fiesta Full of Food, Music, and some Rain
If you’re looking for the best Cinco de Mayo celebration in the Poconos, we’ve found it—and it’s right in the heart of Milford, Pennsylvania, at the vibrant and welcoming La Posada and Felix’s Cantina.

This year, we had the absolute pleasure of attending the Cinco de Mayo event hosted by La Posada, and let us tell you—this wasn’t just a quick meal and a margarita. It was a full-day fiesta packed with flavor, family fun, live music, and so much joy that even the pouring rain couldn’t dampen the celebration.

🎉 Why Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at La Posada in Milford, PA?
The team at La Posada and Felix’s Cantina puts their heart into everything they do, and their Cinco de Mayo celebration is no exception. This family-friendly event brings together locals and visitors for a cultural experience filled with food, music, laughter, and community.
And here’s the best part: this isn’t a one-size-fits-all party. It’s designed to be fun for everyone—kids, parents, foodies, and music lovers alike.
🎶 Live Music and Entertainment All Day Long
From the moment we arrived, the celebration was alive with music. A strolling singer, Roy Ramos Musician, walked through the crowd early in the day, serenading guests at their tables and bringing smiles all around. It created a relaxed, intimate vibe that made you feel part of something special.

Later in the evening, a live band took the stage and turned the entire place into a party. People were dancing, singing along, and enjoying the moment—margarita in hand, of course.

🌧️ Even Rain Couldn’t Stop the Fun
Just as the party was hitting its stride, the skies opened up and it started to rain—but the celebration didn’t miss a beat. The La Posada team simply moved the event inside with ease. Tables were rearranged, the music continued, and the festive spirit stayed strong.

Once the rain passed, everything transitioned right back outside. Guests laughed, dried off, and picked up right where they left off. It was the perfect example of how La Posada blends hospitality, flexibility, and fun into one seamless experience.
🪅 Family-Friendly Activities All Day Long
This Cinco de Mayo celebration wasn’t just for adults—kids had a blast, too! The organizers went above and beyond to create a welcoming environment for families, with plenty of hands-on activities and fun surprises.
What Kids Loved:

- A piñata every 30 minutes. That’s right—every half hour, a new piñata was brought out, and the courtyard filled with excitement as kids lined up to take their swing and scoop up candy.

- Decorate-your-own maracas. Tables were set up with paints, markers, stickers, and more. It was creative, fun, and gave kids something to take home.

- Color-on tablecloths. Laid out on every table were bright, festive table coverings that doubled as coloring pages. Adults even joined in!

- Yard games like cornhole and bean bag toss gave everyone something to do between taco runs.

🌮 Let’s Talk About the Food
We can’t write about this day without shouting out the unbelievably good food. Felix’s Cantina, located inside La Posada, pulled out all the stops for this outdoor fiesta. The menu was stacked with authentic Mexican street food that kept the courtyard buzzing with happy, full bellies.

What We Ate (And Loved):

- Quesadilla
- Street tacos grilled fresh outdoors – including Al Pastor, Cochinita Pibil, and Carne Asada $3 tacos all day long (yes, you read that right)

- Homemade chips and salsa

- Churros and churro sundaes – warm, crunchy, and served with dips and ice cream

- Refreshing cocktails like margaritas, Palomas, and Orange Crushes

The smell of the grill, the sizzle of fresh meat, and the colors of salsa and crema—it was pure magic for any food lover. It’s no surprise that Felix’s Cantina is one of the top restaurants in Milford, PA.

Dinner at Felix’s Cantina had a bit more on the menu than the lunch menu for Cinco de Mayo.
