Are These Crispy Instant Pot Hot Wings
Hot wings need to be crispy. If not, they just don’t have the same taste. These are crispy chicken wings because after the chicken is cooked in the Instant Pot, they are coated with the Buffalo Sauce and then it is placed in the oven to get crispy and caramelized.
What to Serve With Chicken Wings
I love these super easy Instant Pot hot Wings. I have made them with Cheesy Crash Hot Potatoes, The Best Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes, Cowboy Caviar Recipe, and Oven Roasted-Cauliflower. I will also serve these with a chicken Cesar salad or french fries.
Are These Buffalo Wings Keto
If you are following Keto, you will still be able to enjoy these Instant pot Wings. Crispy, flavorful and delicious, these wings are Keto approved. If you decide to use a store-bought sauce instead of the Buffalo sauce recipe, you want to check the sauce for added sugars.
How to Store Leftover Instant Pot Wings
Whenever you have leftover wings, you want to store them in an airtight container or in a freezer bag in the refrigerator. The wings will last up to 5 days when they are stored properly.
Can These Wings Be Frozen
If you like to have these types of wings on hand, you will want to keep some in the freezer. After the finished wings have cooled, I like to freeze them on a plate first. This keeps the wings from sticking together when they are frozen, so that only a small amount of wings can be taken out at a time.
Once the wings are frozen, move them to an airtight container or freezer bag. I prefer using the freezer bag because it takes up less space than a plastic container.
How to Reheat Instant Pot Hot Wings
While some people might reheat the hot wings in the microwave, I do not. I need my wings to be crispy so I always reheat them in the oven. I line the baking sheet with foil and reheat the wings at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes or until they are heated through.
Ingredients in Instant Pot Chicken Wings
- Chicken wings – Fresh or Frozen Wings
- Garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper
- Water
- Celery
Buffalo Wing Sauce Ingredients:
- Frank’s original hot sauce
- Unsalted butter
- Garlic powder
How to Make Chicken Wings in the Instant Pot
Sprinkle wings with the garlic powder and season with salt and black pepper, to taste. Place the metal trivet inside Instant Pot® and add one cup of water. Arrange seasoned wings on top of the trivet before securing the cover in place. Place the lid on the pressure cooker and cook on high pressure for 8 minutes.
While the wings cook, whisk the Frank’s hot sauce, melted butter, and remaining garlic powder in a medium bowl until thoroughly combined. Set aside.
When done cooking, allow pressure to naturally release for 10 minutes, then do a quick release for any remaining steam. Carefully remove lid and transfer wings to a large bowl. Set aside until just cool enough to handle.
Meanwhile, position top oven rack in the top position and pre-heat broiler to high. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with foil and place a wire cooling rack on top. Set aside.
Pour 1/3 of the buffalo sauce on top of the wings and toss to coat. Transfer the wings to the wire rack, in a single layer, on the prepared baking sheet and place under the broiler for 3-4 minutes cook time or until the wings start to get crispy and develop some color. Turn the wings and repeat this process.
Remove baking sheet from oven and toss the wings with half of the remaining buffalo sauce. Serve immediately with sliced celery, ranch dressing, and the remaining sauce on the side for dipping. Another dipping option is bbq sauce, Enjoy!
