A busy family needs healthy food that can be made in a hurry. That is one of the things that we try to do often in my house. Most nights in my house are filled with kids needing to get to work, a friend’s house or to cheer practice. I hate giving the kids fast food often, and cooking from a box or bag is not my favorite thing. undefined

My kids love Sloppy Joes so National Sloppy Joe Day, on March 18th, is a hit in my house. But I like to mix things up when I can. This year for Sloppy Joe day we are making something a little different. I decided to try making something like chili fries. Now I love chili fries, but not all of the kids love chili like I do. But making my version of chili fries, Manwich fries, the kids devour them.

When making Sloppy Joes, I am usually too pressed for time to deal with getting all of the spices and chopping up everything that makes it taste good. I like to use because Manwich has three different canned sauce varieties. There is the Original, Bold and Thick & Chunky. There is only quality ingredients used, with no meat in the can, so that I can use whatever I like to add the best flavor and I can even use Manwich for something like pasta.

Making the Manwich Fries is as easy as can be. The kids think they are getting a junk food dinner, when really, this is a nutritious dinner when you add in some extra veggies.

    Ingredients:

    French Fries

    Manwich

    Hamburger

Simply bake the french fries according the package.

Brown the hamburger. Once it is browned, add in your favorite variety of Manwich. I love using the Thick and Chunky. For an added kick, try the Bold flavor.

Simmer until the fries are ready.

Plate the fries, pile high with Manwich and enjoy.
