As a parent, you are committed to giving your child the best possible start in life. It is very important that you take the right steps to support them in their formative years. Not least because it establishes winning routines for life.

While there are many aspects to consider, here are some that will make the most significant impact in your child’s life.

    Dental Care

Your toddler will continue to cut teeth until they have a full mouth of baby teeth. Therefore, it is essential that you visit a family dental office regularly. This is a chance to check that teeth have erupted as expected while confirming general oral health. If nothing else, building familiarity with this environment at an early age means that your child is less likely to fear it later on.

A healthy smile will have a telling influence on their health and appearance. Even at this early age, giving it the necessary attention is vital.

    Sleep Habits

Quality sleep is priceless at any age. However, growing young bodies need it more than anyone else. Investing in the right toddler bed and bedroom surroundings will have an immensely positive influence. Still, the desired results are only achieved if you also establish winning routines. Toddlers typically need around 10 hours per night, plus a nap.

To ensure that they get enough sleep, you should get them to sleep at the same time each night. This regulates circadian rhythm and supports overall health.

    Childproofing

Toddlers are little explorers, and will probably spend more time at home than anywhere else. With this in mind, childproofing is essential. This includes using stairgates, fireguards, and covers for sharp materials. Preventing accidents and injuries is obviously an essential step for supporting physical health. It also protects their happy relationship with the home.

A focus on safety should extend to keeping the car safe and taking precautions in public. Be sure to help them develop risk assessment skills for themselves too.

    Social Activities

Wellness isn’t just about personal health. Other humans hold the key to our true happiness. Therefore, encouraging social activities is essential. Kids respond best when they socialize with children of all ages. So, even as toddlers, they should be around babies and elementary school kids as well as other toddlers. They can develop a host of crucial skills as a result.

A socially confident kid will have a far happier childhood. Better still, their communication and leadership skills are likely to see a dramatic improvement.

    Health Assessments

Your child will have undergone several health and development assessments during the first two years of life. Still, you must continue to stay on top of potential issues. Regular family eye tests  and hearing examinations are advised. The sooner issues with vision or hearing are identified, the sooner they can be treated and managed. A greater life quality is assured.

Of course, any symptoms of ill health should be checked by your family doctor at the earliest stage. Leaving issues undiagnosed and untreated only allows them to worsen.
