This Homemade Crayons Craft is so cool and easy to make. The craft only uses a few set materials to make the crayons. All you need is crayons, a mold, and a cookie sheet. The overall craft won’t take more than 15 minutes, so it’s perfect as a last-minute craft for the day or something to keep the kids busy for a bit.

Materials Needed:

• Crayons-You will need a 24 pack of crayons.
• Darth Vader Mold– You will be needing a Darth Vader Silicone Mold.
• Cookie Sheet- You will need to make sure to get a sturdy sheet.

How to Recycle Old Crayons Into New Ones

Begin by taking all the wrappers off each of the crayons.

Next, separate and match up colors.

Use your hands to break the crayons, this will help with fitting inside the mold.

Add the pieces into the molds.

Now, set the oven to 325 degrees.

Bring over the cookie sheet and arrange the molds on top.

Place the molds into the oven for 10-12 minutes. Use a toothpick to make sure there are no lumps in the mold from any crayons.

Remove the sheet from the oven and set it aside for the molds to cool thoroughly before taking them out.

Yes, you can melt crayons in a muffin tin. But, for this craft, you will be making Darth Vader Crayons. The only way to do it is by using Darth Vader Shaped molds. Using a muffin tin will great circular crayons, which are great too.

You will want to start off by wrapping the crayons in plastic wrap. This method is a simple method. However, you can place it into a Ziploc bag or container to keep any fly-away pieces from going all over the place.

Start off by breaking up the crayons. Then, you will add all the broken pieces to the cookie cutters. Place the cookie cutters into the preheated oven and melt for the time instructed.

How to Clean up the Mold When Making Homemade Crayons?

The easiest way to clean the molds is by using dish soap. Make sure to clean the mold really well. Then, after you have washed them, dry them with a towel.

Tips on How to Peel Crayons Fast

Some crayons do not use glue to keep them tight to the crayons, so they may pull off pretty easily. If not, then place the crayons in hot water to soak for a few minutes. When they have soaked well, remove the wrappers with your fingers.

Yes, you can melt in the microwave. Remove the wrappers and sort them into separate small heat-safe bowls and break them up with fingers. Place in the microwave and once melted, pour into the molds.
