Philly Cheese Steak Pizza
Philly Cheese Steak is a classic around here. I grew up eating them and never knew that other parts of the country had no idea what it was until, about 7 or 8 years ago, I was having a conversation with a friend who lives in the midwest. We were talking about what we were making for dinner. When I said I was making cheesesteaks she thought I was making steak with cheese on top. These days it seems like most people know what a cheese steak is but still haven’t tried one. Now you can have a cheesesteak at home.
Family Pizza Night
We love having pizza night. We make pizza, watch a movie and hang out together in the living room. Since homemade is always better than premade, I like to make our pizza. Homemade tastes better but most people do not want to spend a lot of time making their pizza. With this recipe, your Philly Cheese Steak pizza is ready in 30 minutes, which is about the same amount of time as it takes to bake a frozen pizza, and believe me, this homemade pizza is SO MUCH BETTER!
What is a Philly Cheesesteak Pizza
A Philly Cheesesteak Pizza is all of the flavors of a cheesesteak on top of a homemade pizza crust. For us, it is important that the pizza crust be homemade because it just tastes better. I think I have tried all of the premade pizza doughs available and nothing tastes as good as a freshly made pizza dough.

Why Didn’t My Pizza Dough Work
While this homemade pizza dough recipe is extremely easy, there are 2 things that can make it no work. If you pay attention to these 2 things, you should have no problem with your dough.
- Water Too Hot: When you are adding the water to the dough, you want it to be very warm but not hot but the water also can not be cold. Add water heated to 120˚F-130˚F and follow recipe instructions. Always use a thermometer to check the temperature. If the water is too hot it will kill the yeast.
- The Dough Didn’t Rise: The 2 reasons that the dough didn’t rise is the water being too hot and the yeast is expired. It is important that the yeast is not expired. When you buy the Fleischmann’s® RapidRise® Yeast make sure it isn’t past its date. The date is written on the packets.
