Make ocean learning more fun with this Free Build A Whale Printable for kids. This easy cut-and-paste whale craft includes color and black-and-white versions that are perfect for preschool, kindergarten, homeschool, ocean units, and summer activities.

Kids can create an adorable ocean friend with this Build a Whale printable. The activity includes separate whale pieces that children can cut out and put together to create their own cute whale. With both a full-color and black-and-white version included, kids can start crafting right away or color their whale before putting it together.

Cut-and-paste crafts are a simple way to combine creativity with important early learning skills. Cutting the whale pieces helps children practice scissor control and fine motor skills, while figuring out where each piece belongs encourages visual and spatial awareness. Kids can also practice following directions as they work through each step of building their whale.

This printable whale craft for kids is perfect for ocean units, preschool centers, kindergarten activities, homeschool lessons, summer crafts, and rainy-day fun. It can also be paired with books or lessons about whales and other ocean animals to make learning more hands-on. Once finished, kids can display their whales on a classroom bulletin board, add them to an underwater scene, or take them home to show their families.

Print the Free Build A Whale Printable pages and choose either the color version or the black-and-white version. Have children carefully cut out the whale body, fins, tail, water spout, eyes, and other pieces before arranging everything to create their whale. Glue the pieces together once they are happy with how their whale looks.

If you use the black-and-white version, let kids color and decorate the pieces before cutting them out. They can also draw an ocean background with waves, fish, seaweed, bubbles, and other sea creatures to create a complete underwater picture. For extra durability, print the pieces on cardstock or glue the finished Build a Whale craft onto construction paper.
