Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to bring conversations about gratitude, community, and working together into the classroom. This Thanksgiving Collaboration Poster combines those ideas with a creative coloring project students can complete as a group.
Instead of every student creating a separate Thanksgiving picture, the class works together on one large design. The poster is divided into 24 numbered coloring sections, allowing each child to contribute an individual piece.
Students won’t need to color every page themselves. Give each student a section, let them add their own colors and creative touches, and then assemble the finished pages using the numbered guide. As the pieces come together, the class gets to see the complete “Thankful Hearts” Thanksgiving design.
A Colorful Thanksgiving Classroom Project
The finished artwork is packed with familiar autumn imagery. Students can color a cheerful turkey alongside pumpkins, acorns, autumn leaves, sunflowers, pie, cozy fall items, flowers, and other seasonal illustrations.
The variety of details makes this an engaging option for an elementary Thanksgiving art project, November morning activity, early finisher project, homeschool lesson, classroom party, or seasonal coloring center.
The collaborative format can also complement a lesson about gratitude. Teachers might invite students to talk about something they’re thankful for while working on their sections or pair the activity with Thanksgiving writing prompts.
Turn Student Artwork Into Thanksgiving Decor
One of the best parts comes after the coloring is finished. Assemble all 24 sections and transform the students’ individual pages into a large classroom display.
The completed Thankful Hearts poster can decorate a Thanksgiving bulletin board, classroom wall, hallway, library, door, or art display throughout November. Instead of simply hanging purchased decorations, you’ll have seasonal decor that the students helped create themselves.
With printable pages and an included numbered assembly guide, preparation is simple. Print, distribute, color, assemble, and display.
For teachers and families searching for a Thanksgiving classroom activity that combines art, teamwork, coloring, and gratitude, this collaborative poster offers a memorable way to celebrate the season together. ??
