I made this batch with strawberry yogurt, but you can use plain Greek yogurt, coconut yogurt, banana puree, or any baby food puree you like. The best part? This recipe makes a big batch—around 150 yogurt melts—so you’ll have plenty of healthy, portable snacks ready to go.

    ⭐ Why You’ll Love this Recipe ⭐

While the store bought version of these yogurt drops are freeze dried, most people do not have a freeze dryer. So you can easily make dehydrated yogurt bites in your kitchen, without any special equipment.

Nutritious Snack – Made with real yogurt and wholesome ingredients, these yogurt bites are a great way to add healthy fats and protein to your little one’s diet.

Customizable Flavors – Try different flavors of yogurt, add a little fruit puree, or even blend in freeze-dried fruits for variety.

Perfect for Little Fingers – These small drops are just the right size for babies working on their pincer grasp, making them a fun finger food option.

Whole Family Friendly – While perfect for babies 6–9 months and up, older kids (and parents) love these, too! I mean, Serenity buys one bag for each kid and a bag for her too.

    🧾 Ingredients

📌 Be sure to see the recipe card below for the full ingredients list with quantities and step-by-step instructions!

    • Yogurt of your choice(Greek yogurt, coconut yogurt, or dairy-free yogurt works great)
    • Cornstarch
    • White granulated sugar
    • Egg whites
    • Cream of tartar
    ingredients

🔪 How to Make Homemade Yogurt Melts

Preheat the Oven – Set your oven to 215°F (low and slow heat ensures the yogurt melts dry out instead of burn).

Prepare the Pan – Line a baking sheet with tin foil, then place a sheet of parchment paper or wax paper on top.

Mix the Yogurt Base – In a small mixing bowl, stir together the yogurt, cornstarch, and sugar until fully combined.

combining the ingredients to create the yogurt base

Whip the Egg Whites – In a medium bowl, add the egg whites and cream of tartar. Beat with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form and the mixture holds shape.

beat the egg whites until stiff

Combine Gently – Carefully fold the yogurt mixture into the egg whites using a rubber spatula. Be gentle so you don’t lose the fluffy texture.

pipe the yogurt drops into the sheet pan

Pipe the Drops – Transfer the mixture to a piping bag with a small tip, or use a spoon to drop small dots onto the prepared baking sheet. You only need a little space between each.

Bake Low and Slow – Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden brown.

Cool Completely – Let the yogurt melts cool on the baking sheet for about 15 minutes before transferring to an airtight container or freezer-safe container.

⭐ Tips for the Best Baby Yogurt Melt ⭐

    • Storage – Keep them at room temperature in an airtight container or Ziploc bag. Avoid the fridge or freezer, which can make them sticky.
    • Flavor Options – Try plain yogurt with strawberry puree, banana puree, or other baby food purees for variety.
    • Remove Fruit Chunks – If using yogurt with fruit, remove any large pieces so they bake evenly.
    • Easy Piping – A piping bag makes this quicker, but you can also use a corner-cut freezer bag.

Blend plain yogurt with fresh strawberry puree for a naturally pink color and a fruity flavor babies love.

    Blueberry Bliss
Add 2 tablespoons of blueberry puree or mashed blueberries to the yogurt mixture for an antioxidant-rich snack.

    Dairy-Free Coconut Yogurt Melts
Swap regular yogurt for coconut yogurt to make a dairy-free version. Perfect for little ones with dairy sensitivities.

Mix two or three baby food purees—like mango, pear, and strawberry—into plain yogurt for a fun mix of flavors.

    Veggie-Boosted Yogurt Melts
Stir in a tablespoon of sweet potato puree or carrot puree to sneak in extra nutrients.

    Freeze-Dried Fruit Boost
Crush freeze-dried strawberries, bananas, or raspberries and stir into the yogurt mixture before piping. This adds flavor, color, and a slight crunch.

    Apple Cinnamon Yogurt Drops
Blend applesauce with a pinch of cinnamon into the yogurt mixture for a cozy fall twist.

    • Frosting Bag (optional)
    • Small Frosting Tip (any will work, optional)
    • Medium Mixing Bowl
    • Small Mixing Bowl
    • Rubber spatula
    • Measuring spoons
    • Parchment paper
    • Tin Foil

    Ingredients

    • 2 Tablespoons Yogurt Flavored or Plain
    • 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
    • 1 Tablespoon White Granulated Sugar
    • 2 Egg Whites
    • ¼ Teaspoon Cream of Tartar

    Directions

    • Preheat the oven to 215 degrees fahrenheit.
    • Line a 9×13 baking sheet with tin foil and then place a sheet of parchment paper over the top of the foil.

    • Remove and let chill on the pan for 15 minutes.
    • Eat right away or store in a sealed baggie or airtight container in the pantry. Enjoy!
