Decorative Pumpkin from Upcycled Tide Container
I am always looking for ways to epicycle materials into decorative or useful crafts. We have used toilet paper rolls for Easy DIY Treat Bag for Halloween and Milk jugs to Create My Easter Bunny Basket. This upcycled Tide container makes the perfect decorative pumpkin.
How to get labels off laundry detergent bottles
Remove the label from the laundry pods container by soaking in hot water, scraping, and then using GooGone to remove it completely. You can also use a heat gun to warm the label, but this option’s ease varies based on the brand. For instance, I found using a heat gun to be easy on Gain containers but difficult on Tide containers.
What paint sticks to plastic bottles
Since you are using a Tide container this container is already colored orange. If you are using a different brand and need to paint the container, you will want to use spray paint or acrylic paint. Things that are waterbed like finger paints will not stick and cover the container.
If it is hard for the paint to stick, use a very fine grain sandpaper and rub it over the container. This will rough it up a little bit and give a surface for the paint to stick to.
How can I decorate using these Variations for decorating
I am using printer paper to make the face on the pumpkin but you can also use adhesive vinyl, like what you would use with Circuit.
You can also paint the face on the pumpkin. This way kids can paint any kind of face they like.
