Bookworm Paper Bookmark for Kids
Kids get excited when they have a fun bookmark. I know it helps make kids want to read. Since a lot of parents find it hard to Motivate Your Child to Read, any little thing that can help young readers, I want to try.
Are These Only Bookmarks for Kids
Absolutely not. I love how adorable these bookmarks are. They are creative and fun to look at. I have made several of these bookmarks that I use in my cookbooks.
Will these Paper Bookmarks Mess Up My Book
Not at all. These paper bookmarks are thin, only the width of a piece of paper. I don’t recommend putting the face, with the googly eyes into the book, but other than that, it will not mess up the pages of your book.
What Kind of Paper Do I Need for DIY Bookmarks for Kids
I like to use scrapbook paper when I make bookmarks for kids. That is because I like the pretty patterns on the paper. We have made these bookmarks out of basic colored construction paper, cardstock or white printer paper that we have colored and designed ourselves.
What Else Can I Use Instead of Paper for the Bookmark
If you do not want to make a paper bookmark, you can also make these bookmarks out of felt or foam. The kids loved making these bookmarks in all kinds of materials.

How to Make Bookworm Paper Bookmark for Kids
Trace a small circular item on the cardboard to create a template. Cut out the circle.
On the back of the paper, trace the circle. You can make as many circles as you like. I find the best are 5-7 circles. I draw the circles on the back because then it doesn’t show when the circles are cut.
Glue the circles together alternating the heights, creating a wiggle in the worm.
Glue the eyes and draw the mouth on your worm.
Cut 2 small strips as antenna. Glue them into place.
Once the book worms are dry, it is ready to use.
