I know a ton of people who do Halloween parties. And it usually the same old same old games. I came across this game of Halloween Scavenger Hunt for a review and I love it. I can’t wait to get the kids together to play it, and for once, I can be the person who organizes the games for the kids. But this year I was given a game to review from Party Games Plus.
Clues, Spells, and Curses Scavenger Hunt is an adorable game. As the children arrive, they are given a the rules sheet and a letter explaining about the witch and why she needs to be gotten rid of. The children follow the clues, trying to not become cursed. The witch has mixed curses in with the clues, so this leads to different curses being released on the children. The curses , which the finder fall victim to immediately, are fun and let the kids do some acting and really play it up. For example, one curse is the curse of the forgotten, where until the curse is broken all things about yourself will be forgotten. I can see my kids having a blast with this one. Since teams are not allowed to break the curse on themselves, the teams must still work together.
There are red tickets that will help children if they get stuck. When a red ticket is found, it allows the team to ask a yes or no question to the game host. There is also money included with the print outs that the teams can barter and trade with other teams for things they need.
The magic ingredients are very common household items, so even getting that together is no hardship. I love how easy it is to “throw” this together. Almost everything is easily printed right off the computer and the house hold items make up the rest.
At the end, the winning team is the team that can complete the final spell first. The money can be used for either an action at the end or as prize money. Plus there are awards that can be given out to the other teams, most creative, winner and best actor.
This game is so adorable and can easily for most age groups. It can be down played for younger kids who would need more help, but I could easily set my teenagers out to do this and , although it would never be admitted by them in front of their friends, and they would have a total blast too.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
