What is better than chocolate? Maybe bacon? Hum… I am not sure which is better. They both rock! So what happens, when you mix them together and add some homemade caramel. You get Bacon Bark! I am not even sure how I found this recipe.  I have never even heard of Bacon Bark before I stumbled on Farmhouse38’s and thought, “Oh Yes! I have to make this!” It took me a while to,get around to it, but this is so amazing. Good for you, oh hell NO, but amazing, YES!

    Bacon Bark

    2 pounds bacon
    2 sticks of butter
    1 cup of brown sugar
    2 packages of chocolate chips
    Sea Salt

Make the bacon. I like mine nice and crispy.  Make yours how you like it. Cut it into bite size pieces. Spread the bacon onto a cookie sheet, in a nice layer. Preheat the oven to 350. Melt the butter in a sauce pan. Once melted, add the brown sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Continue cooking and stirring for about 5 minutes, while it thickens and turns to a caramel color. Pour the caramel over the bacon and put it in the oven for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, take it out of the oven and add the chocolate chips over the top evenly. Put it back in the oven for 5 minutes. When it comes out of the oven, sprinkle it with salt, then smooth the chocolate out. Sprinkle a little bit more salt over top. Let it cool until the chocolate is hard.

It can be put in the freezer to speed it along. Then break into pieces.

They don’t look like they melt until your run the knife or spatula over them. Then they are nice and gooey, and yummy.
