Need A Break? Here’s How To Quickly Plan A Getaway

Sometimes reality hits you all at once. And when it does, it’s usually at a pretty inconvenient moment!

You’re in the middle of work, or you’re trying to ferry the kids out of the house and someone just won’t put their shoes on. All of a sudden, you sort of have an out of body experience, where you look down at yourself and just think ‘She needs a holiday!’

So let’s get you one! Yes, you absolutely can get yourself a quick getaway from the day to day and finally get at least 48 hours to relax and recharge. And if that’s something that sounds good to you, we’re here to help you plan it all out!

Come Up with a 20 Minute Budget

What could you realistically afford to put toward a sudden and quick holiday if you were to take money out of your bank account right now?

This is where the 20 minute budget comes in. This is enough time to check on your savings, your current debts, when your next bills are due, and what money is left in between.

And if you have a savings pot that’s just meant for ‘a rainy day’, consider the rain pouring down on you right now! A quick getaway would be for the good of your health, and that’s what this money is for.

Look for a Last Minute Deal

They’re out there, and some of them are pretty good! Last minute deals work on this sense of desperation for a holiday. They know you need to get away, and they know you’re willing to pay a good bit of money for the privilege.

But even so, they drop their prices (sometimes even slashing them by more than half!) to make sure you do actually book your spot on that flight. Of course, the key is knowing where to look for them.

Whether you want last minute cruise deals or you want to find a set of cheap airplane seats, it’s often best to go via the provider’s own website. They usually host the best exclusive deals there, which you often won’t find on price comparison sites or via travel agents.

    Focus on Staying Nearby

Remember, when you want to take a holiday ASAP, it’s best to stick to your home country. You can go a bit further afield than the next town or city over, of course, but try to stay relatively nearby.

It’ll be cheaper, for one thing, but it also gives you more time to focus on the actual rest and relaxation part of the getaway. A ‘staycation’ also has the added bonus of being a lot more pet friendly, if you’re keen to bring your dog along with you too!

Need a break and need one now? We hear you! Get yourself into the holiday spirit in double time with the tips above. Whether you’re worried about the time, cost, or where to go, these tips will help steer you right.
