This delicious and easy to make Broccoli Bacon Salad is a fantastic that is dairy free and made without mayonnaise. Perfect as a side dish or bring as a potluck side dish.

    Broccoli Bacon Salad without Mayonnaise

This amazing broccoli salad with bacon is great for picnics, potlucks, and other casual get-togethers. The mayonnaise-free dressing adds a boost of bright flavor thanks to the fresh lemon juice and zest, while the crisp-tender broccoli and pumpkin seeds add a satisfying crunch.

I absolutely love broccoli bacon salad. I make a traditional broccoli salad and Broccoli Apple Salad until one day I didn’t have mayonnaise on hand. Since we have been changing how we eat, this new broccoli bacon salad is a healthy, low carb, side dish option.

Is This a Keto Broccoli Salad?

This recipe uses a sugar substitute to keep it low in sugars. There are carbs in some of the other ingredients, but eaten in moderation, this makes a delicious keto side dish.

What to Serve with this Broccoli Bacon Salad

This salad makes a great side dish but we have also served it as a main course. If you want to serve something with this, it goes fantastic with:

    • Keto Pickle Chicken Thighs
    • Instant Pot Chicken Wings
    • Balsamic Chicken Breasts
    • Instant Pot Beef Tips and Rice
    • Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Cajun Seasoning
    • Ranch Pork Chops

Can I Use Different Seeds in this Broccoli Salad Recipe?

I love the taste of pumpkin seeds in this recipe but I have also made it sunflower seeds and chia seeds

    • Full-fat, non-flavored Greek yogurt
    • Stevia powder
    • Lemon juice
    • Lemon zest
    • Salt and pepper
    • Red onion
    • Fresh broccoli
    • Bacon
    • Fresh parsley
    • Toasted pumpkin seeds

How to make Broccoli Bacon Salad

To make the dressing, combine the Greek yogurt, honey, lemon juice, and zest in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Set aside.

Cut the broccoli into bite sized pieces. Add the broccoli florets to a large bowl and add 2-3 tablespoons of cold water. Cover and microwave on high for 3-4 minutes, or until florets are crisp tender.

Remove from microwave and drain excess liquid. Set aside, uncovered, and allow steamed florets to cool.

In a large bowl, combine the red onion, broccoli, crumbled bacon, and fresh parsley. Toss gently to combine. Top with ½ Greek yogurt dressing and toss again until ingredients are thoroughly coated.

Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes or overnight before serving. Cover and reserve remaining dressing, as well.

Toss chilled salad with remaining dressing right before serving, or serve on the side for those who prefer a little extra dressing. Sprinkle with the toasted pumpkin seeds right before serving to keep them crunchy.
