I have always loved ASL and I have always wanted to become fluent in it. I have taught my kids since they were little because I am a big believer in why kids should learn asl.

How to Say Merry Christmas in ASL

I remember when my kids were small they would love to learn signs that were relevant to whatever was going on. We learned signs for food and for animals and for other things that we did every day. One of our favorite things was to learn how to say Merry Christmas in Sign Language.

    Saying Merry Christmas in ASL

Saying Merry Christmas in ASL is actually very easy. It uses the sign for happy which is a swoop up in the middle of your chest and Christmas which is a C in half a wreath shape. Don’t worry, I am including a video from one of our favorite sign language shows, Signing Times.

    Saying Santa in Sign Language

I love when there are little tricks that help me remember how to sign the words. In ASL Santa is like drawing Santa’s beard. Just imagine pulling out the beard when signing Santa in Sign Language

    Happy New Year ASL

Happy New Year in ASL is easy to sign as well. You will do the sign for happy, then a scoop through your hand and a sign for year.

Happy New Year in Sign Language

This video not only shows how to sign Happy Holiday, Happy Hanukkah, Christmas tree and Santa, it also shows how to do Happy New Year in Sign Language.

This is a video from Signing Times, which is one of my favorite sign language video series for children. The video teaches you Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Chanukah, Christmas tree, Santa Clause and Happy New Year. Spend some time with Rachael as she teaches you how to sign this things for the holidays. This is a fun way to learn to sign and for kids to learn to sign. Signing Times makes it fun and easy to remember. The songs are catchy and hard to forget.
