One Bowl Banana Bread

All you need is a few ingredients, a mixer, a loaf pan, and a bowl to whip up this delightful banana bread. This one bowl banana bread is the simplest recipe that requires only a few dirty dishes and a little over an hour of your time.  This recipe is family loved and freezer-friendly, meaning you can make a few loaves ahead of time to have banana bread anytime you’re craving it.

Allow your one bowl banana bread to cool completely to room temperature, wrap in plastic wrap, and place inside an airtight freezer bag. You can store it like this in the freezer for 2-4 months. If you plan to use as a grab and go snack, then you’ll want to slice the bread into single-serve slices, wrap in plastic wrap, and place in an airtight container in your fridge.

How to Ripen Bananas Fast

The best way to get your bananas ripe fast for this one loaf banana bread recipe is to place your bananas in a paper bag. Be sure to add an already ripe banana or an apple in there with the unripe bananas. This will help speed up the process to ripen a banana fast. Fold the top of the paper bag down to close it and let it sit on the counter. This method to ripen a banana fast will work in just one to two days.

You can also ripen the bananas in the oven. Set the oven to 300 degrees and bake them for 15-30 minutes until the bananas are shiny and black.

Variations

If you’re feeling adventurous, there are many variations you can create using this super moist banana bread recipe. Just be sure to use ½ cup of whichever variation you choose and fold it into your batter before scraping into the loaf pan.

The below are a few variations that you can add an extra flavor burst or texture:

  • Raisins
  • Chocolate Chips
