Valentine’s Day Flower Pots
These flower pots are a great Valentine’s Day craft idea because everything can be bought at the dollar store. The dollar store by me sells everything including the modge podge.
Supplies:
Flower Pots
Paint – red and white
Modge Podge
Start by painting the flower pots. Paint one white and one red.
Once the paint is dry, paint the child’s finger. Press the first fingerprint leaning left and the second print leaning right. This forms the heart. Have the bottom overlap.
Once the flower pot is dry, modge podge it. This helps to seal the paint and make it more durable. It also gives the pot a shine.
Once the Modge Podge is dry, add in something on the bottom to stop the soil and water from flowing out. I like to put in a napkin folded up in the bottom. Add in some soil and get it ready to add in some flowers. Depending on the person you are giving it to, you can either use a full-size plant or plant some seeds. I planted some beautiful flowers that were given to me by the kids for my birthday.
I keep the flower pots that the girls made on my front porch. I love looking at it. Seeing the little fingerprints just make me happy. It is always nice to look back on seeing little things like this and remember how small the kids once were. Time goes too fast and this is just a fun reminder.
