If you love banana bread but thought you couldn’t have it while trying to lose weight, you have to try this Weight Watchers Banana Bread. It is so moist and delicious, no one would think it was lower in fat and calories.
Weight Watchers Banana Bread
I love me some banana bread. It is one of my go to things to make. We eat it for breakfast and snacks and even the kids love it.
Sometimes we add chocolate chips or nuts. We have even made it with peanut butter chips. But none of those make the banana bread Weight Watchers approved.
So I played with the recipe and came up with a 1 point Weight Watchers Banana Bread recipe that tastes amazing.
How to Store Banana Bread
Banana Bread can be stored at room temperature. The key to making banana bread last is to make sure it is covered well.
This can be with plastic wrap, a freezer bag or in an airtight container. Anything that protects the bread from being exposed to the air.
Banana bread can also be stored in the refrigerator. It will last a few days longer in the the refrigerator but I prefer it at room temperature.
Can Banana Bread Be Frozen
YES! I love to freeze banana bread. When we make WW banana bread, I always make a double batch and freeze one of the loaves. This lets me have banana bread whenever I want it.
Before I freeze the bread, I like to cut it into slices. Then I wrap each slice with plastic wrap and then I place it in a freezer bag.
This keeps everything from getting freezer burn and keeps the slices all together in one place in the freezer.
How Long Does WW Banana Bread Last
When banana bread is stored at room temperature and covered, it will last for about 4-5 days. If it is stored in the refrigerator, it will last for about 10 days. It can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Can These Be Made into Banana Muffins
If you want to make these into banana bread muffins, you can easily make the change.
Be sure to spray each muffin tin well with non stick cooking spray or use a cupcake liner. Then, bake the muffins for 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees.
What is the Best Sugar Substitute for This Weight Watchers Banana Bread
I am using Splenda. I like that it is a one to one sugar substitute. That means that if a recipe calls for sugar, I can use Splenda and not have to adjust the amount I am putting in.
With some of the other sugar substitutes you have to adjust it because it is stronger than sugar. Stevia is a good example of this.

How Many Points in Weight Watchers Banana Bread
When you use a sugar substitute in this recipe, it will come in at 1 point per slice on all plans. This is when you are making it into 12 servings. If you made this banana bread using real sugar, it would come in at 5 points.
- Purple Plan – 1 point per serving
- Blue Plan– 1 point per serving
- Green Plan – 1 point per serving
Depending on your Personal Points plan these points might be different. The new plan caters the points to your own personal preferences.
I like to keep the old plans point here because it gives people a nice general idea.
Most people’s points changed when they did the new assessment, however, the points per item, for most people, do not change that significantly.

I’m sorry that this didn’t turn out for you. When you measured out the flour, did you scoop it out or did you spoon and level the flour into the measuring cup?
Rani
This recipe will benefit from the addition of 1 egg. Try it again and see.
diane
i Aden your banana bread today.it cooked for 50 mins. But when it cooled it shrunk. It taste Ok but does not look like you’re picture. Does it need baking soda ?
Our Wabi Sabi Life
I’m sorry that it didn’t turn out. The recipe does call for and does list baking soda in the recipe card. When you measured the flour, did you do the scoop method or did you do the spoon and level method?
Cortney
Is there one way you surest over another?
Julie
I made mine into muffins and they’re DELICIOUS! They turned out perfectly. I had them in for 25 minutes. It would be great if you also provided calories. Thank you! I’ll make them again!
Anne
Was good but didn’t rise what did I do wrong? I scooped the flour also I used sweetens apple sauce. Is that why?
Debi
That shouldn’t have been a problem. Did you remember the baking soda? It could be that it was over beaten. It should only be mixed until all of the ingredients are combined.
Anicka
Mine looks absolutely nothing like the picture. I used the spoon and level method for the flour. Mine came out gummy in the middle, it shrank, and it is a very dark brown. Not sure what happened! It doesn’t taste bad, but I wouldn’t make it again.
Debi
That shouldn’t have been a problem. Did you remember the baking soda? It could be that it was over beaten. It should only be mixed until all of the ingredients are combined.
Karen
I had the exact same problem, this was the second one and they both came out the same and I followed the recipe to the letter.
Diane
Could you substitute almond flour for the all purpose flour?
Debi
I haven’t tried it yet but it is on my list of things to try
Gail
Your recipe look good. I have all the ingredients. Only thing is I don’t know what size loaf pan to use. Is it a 8 in. or 9 in. loaf pan?
Linda
I’ve made this bread twice. It was a big hit here. I make regular banana bread all the time but since we are trying to lose weight I thought I would try it.
I added some oatmeal for moisture about [3\4 of a cup) and cinnamon. It was delicious each time. One loaf baking right now. Thank you.
I used my kitchen aid to mix it.
Love your recipe.
Anna
I put this on the recipe creator and it came out to six points per serving. Is this correct?
Debi
Mine comes it at 1 but the problem is with the new plans, yours can can be different than mine. Make sure you are using all of the WW changes mentioned.
Lou
Love love love this recipe! I used on 1/2 cup sugar and it is just right!
Ethel Johnson
Did you use rugar sugar or substitute
Debi
For making this a WW bread, I like the lowest points, so I use the substitute. However, I have made it with regular sugar. The points for all are listed.
Lou
It makes just enough for 12 muffins. I bake for 20 minutes. They are perfect. 😊
Renae
Do you know how many calories are in a serving?
Debi
I do not. We will be adding more nutritional information soon but have not figured it out yet.
Becky
I made this today and used the Swerve confectionery sugar and it was wonderful! I will make it again and add vanilla and cinnamon. But it is awesome as is.
Deb
Mine came out great but good thing I checked it cooking because it only took 30 minutes.I would have burnt it at 55 minutes if I left my timer go. The bottom was a tad bit chewy too. Maybe I didn’t mix it good enough? But all in all it was good. I would make it again.
Linda
My four time making this. Added oatmeal and cinnamon for more moisture……we love it. Great recipe for dieters who love something sweet.
Amanda
So I read the reviews and was a little nervous bc people were saying it didn’t rise. I was going to use monk fruit sweetener, which is zero calorie. I noticed on the bag that it said to use half sugar and half mf sweetener when baking so it would rise. I decided not to use it bc I wanted to make sure it was low in points, but maybe that’s why some of your breads aren’t rising. I used 6 tbsp of stevia in the recipe and it was absolutely amazing. Me and my mom loved it! Thank you!
BARBARA
What size of bread pans? The mini or regular loaf pan?
Debi
These are regular loaf size
Jenj
Is this really true that the recipe doesn’t have any eggs whatsoever?
Jill
Crazy how everyone is coming out with different results! I took the advise of a couple different people. I used 6 Tbsp of Stevia instead of the 1 cup of sugar substitute. I also just mixed it by hand with a wooden spoon so as not to over mix. Then mine only took 40 minutes to cook. Finally, my first successful baked dessert with low point value!
Thanks for the terrific foundation recipe!
Sammy
Baked them like small muffins and the inside is doughy. I used self rising flour and not salt or baking powder. And can you put a egg in it.
Mary
Hi Debi,
Love this recipe and have made it about 4 times. My finicky granddaughter loves it, win, win!
I have a question regarding flour. do you think almond flour could be used instead of regular flour?
Thank you!
Debi
The ratios for almond flour are different than regular flour. I have never tried it so I don’t know what the measurements would be.
Deens
How do I track this on the WW app?
Debi
Add in the ingredients or the spot where it lets you just add the amount of points.
Stephanie
Delicious! I added vanilla, half tsp baking powder, and an egg. I also used half whole wheat flour. It made 12 yummy muffins.
Linda
How many points????
Our Wabi Sabi Life Staff
Thanks for the question. We have updated the post, however, it’s when you use a sugar substitute in this recipe, it will come in at 1 point per slice on all plans. This is when you are making it into 12 servings. If you made this banana bread using real sugar, it would come in at 5 points.
Purple Plan – 1 point per serving
Blue Plan– 1 point per serving
Green Plan – 1 point per serving
Soon I will have this recipe updated with the new point system and a link to the recipe in the WW website to add to your daily tracking.
Stefany
Hi! Is the nutrition count per serving or is that for the whole bread? I’m assuming per serving… just hoping for something different as when it put it in the WW app, it came out to 6 points per serving on the new personal plan. And, stupidly I put it in after baking. It seems like a lot. Just wanted to double check!
Debi
Are you using real sugar or a sugar substitute?
Lara
I made three loaves because I had eight bananas. It came out perfect! Also, instead of 3 cups of Monk fruit, because that can sometimes hurt bellies… I used half truevia brown sugar. The flavor is incredible! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!
Ali K
Made this recipe this morning, used ap and leveled, used baking soda and hand mixed, Used 1/4 cup Stevia. Baked for 40 minutes, its a little moist in the middle and VERY DARK, not burnt. Taste ok but not sure what went wrong. The only thing is I used a glass loaf pan.
Ali K
Correction from above, baked 50 minutes.
Elisa
Thank you for these excellent directions and this delicious banana bread! It is spectacular! The only thing I would do next time is put 1/2 cup of truvia sweetner .
