    Peppermint Patty Drink

When I was growing up, my grandparents had a bar in the basement. It wasn’t that anyone drank a lot, it was just the place to be together as a family. I remember hearing the music playing, and the signs. My grandfather had what seemed like a thousand signs on the wall. I would sit there and read them, over and over and over. When he passed away and my grandmother needed full-time care, the family had to sell the house. Grandmom moved in with my mom and the family split the signs so that everyone had a little piece of the bar in their homes.

Now, my brother has the tradition. He has a bar set up for everyone to come and hang out. It is funny hearing my little ones, Willow was 5 when she started telling people, I am going over to bar. The looks were hysterical.  So for us, the bar is just a place that memories are made.

For each family celebration, whether it is a summer picnic, or a Christmas get together, we always have a featured drink. For this year’s Christmas cocktail we are featuring a peppermint patty martini. Basically, this Christmas drink is a peppermint mocha martini. It tastes just like a Peppermint Patty, hence the name Peppermint Patty Martini.

During the winter, and really anytime, people love peppermint. This is a simple to make peppermint cocktail that doesn’t have an overwhelming taste. This peppermint cocktail tastes similar to a white Russian that has peppermint in it. If you like peppermint white Russian, then you will love this Peppermint Mocha Martini.

    Chocolate Peppermint Cocktails

The thing that makes Peppermint Patty Martini so delicious, in my opinion, is the chocolate. I love anything mocha. That mix of chocolate coffee flavor can make just about anything taste perfect. So if you are looking for chocolate peppermint cocktails to serve during a Christmas party, this Peppermint Patty Martini should be the first one you try.

Green Christmas drink with red sanding sugar, Grinch Cocktail

Want to check out last year’s Christmas cocktail? This Grinch cocktail was a huge hit. If you want a Christmas cocktail that isn’t as sweet, try a Cranberry Margarita. If you want a Christmas punch recipe idea, you can use this non-alcoholic punch that we use for St. Patrick’s Day. Simply change the gold sanding sugar to a red sanding sugar.
