How to Melt Chocolate For Dipping Oreo Cookies
There are 2 ways to melt chocolate for dipping Oreos. You can use a double broiler or you can melt them in the microwave. Whenever I am melting white chocolate melts, I have found that I have more success melting them in the microwave. I am not sure why because all other chocolate I love to use the double broiler method.
When melting chocolate in the microwave, place the chocolates in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave for 30 minutes. Stir the chocolate and then heat again for 30 seconds. Do this until the chocolate is melted but do not overheat it because it can burn.
When melting chocolate in the double broiler, which is the best method for chocolate other than white chocolate (at least for me). Place a pot on the stove with water and place a bowl or another pot over the top. When the water is about to boil, add the chocolate in the top bowl and stir while it melts.
Is it Possible to Burn Candy Melts?
Yes, it is possible to burn candy melts. Make sure to check the directions on the back of the package. If the candy melts are burned, you will not be able to use it. While you can unseize the chocolate using oil, you can not get rid of the burned flavor.
