How to Melt Chocolate For Dipping Oreo Cookies
There are 2 ways to melt chocolate for dipping Oreos. You can use a double broiler or you can melt them in the microwave. Whenever I am melting white chocolate melts, I have found that I have more success melting them in the microwave. I am not sure why because all other chocolate I love to use the double broiler method.
When melting chocolate in the microwave, place the chocolates in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave for 30 minutes. Stir the chocolate and then heat again for 30 seconds. Do this until the chocolate is melted but do not overheat it because it can burn.
When melting chocolate in the double broiler, which is the best method for chocolate other than white chocolate (at least for me). Place a pot on the stove with water and place a bowl or another pot over the top. When the water is about to boil, add the chocolate in the top bowl and stir while it melts.
Is it Possible to Burn Candy Melts?
Yes, it is possible to burn candy melts. Make sure to check the directions on the back of the package. If the candy melts are burned, you will not be able to use it. While you can unseize the chocolate using oil, you can not get rid of the burned flavor.

To make the drizzle, melt about 10 candy melts. I like to use a plastic sandwich bag or my pastry piping bags.
Use parchment paper or a silicone mat to place the chocolate covered cookies on. Otherwise, there will be a tendency to stick to the surface you sit them on.

Melt the chocolate using either the double broiler method or microwave. I prefer the microwave because white chocolate always seizes for me on the double broiler.
Using the cookie dipping tool, dip the Oreo in the white chocolate. Do all the cookies at once.
Melt the blue (or red) chocolate and place inside of a pastry bag or sandwich bag with the tip snipped off. Decorate the cookie in zig zags.
Add the sprinkles over the chocolate and let the cookies harden.
