How to Make Hash Brown Casserole

Step 1: Prepare your baking dish and preheat the oven.

Step 2: Thoroughly cook the sausage and after draining it, set it aside.

Step 3: In a small bowl, whisk together the spices, eggs, and milk.

Step 4: In the skillet you used for the sausage, cook the hash browns.

Step 5: On top of the cooked hash browns, add the sausage on top then the egg mixture.

Step 6: Sprinkle cheese generously all over the top.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground turkey sausage 
  • 24 oz. frozen shredded hash browns
  • 8 eggs large
  • 2 c almond milk
  • 2 c shredded cheddar cheese fat free
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/2 t pepper
  • 1/2 t onion powder
  • 1/2 t garlic powder
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375.

  2. Spray a 9×13 casserole dish with cooking oil and set aside

  3. Using a large skillet, cook the sausage until no longer pink, drain, and set aside (we had leftover in the freezer, so ours was already cooked in the in-process photos)

  4. In a medium size bowl, combine the eggs, milk and spices and whisk together.

  5. Using the same skillet, brown the hash browns.

  6. Press the hash browns into the casserole dish.

  7. Sprinkle the cooked sausage onto the top of the hash browns.

  8. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage.

  9. Sprinkle the cheese evenly on top of the mixture. 

  10. Bake in your oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the eggs are firm and the hash browns are golden brown. Remove and allow to cool slightly before cutting.
