The Poconos are just a short drive from many places in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. It is a gorgeous place to plan a quick road trip to. There are many things to do and lots to see. The mountains make a lovely back drop to all the activities that are available year round.

Take a drive to the Jim Thorpe Memorial. The memorial is outside of town and is a lovely memorial to an excellent athlete. It has interesting facts for anyone who is interested in the history of Jim Thorpe.
Take a tour of the historic Victorian town of Jim Thorpe. Visit the Old Jail Museum and learn about the Molly Maguires.
Take a ride on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway. Then, visit the Asa Packer Mansion who was the founder of the first railroad in America. Even try having dinner on an authentic train car diner.
Explore the coal heritage and take a tour of the No. 9 Mine and Museum
