Can I Make This Chocolate Banana Ice Cream
You can a 2 to 3 tablespoons of cocoa to make this banana ice cream into a chocolate ice cream. Depending on the amount of chocolate you want you might want to go slow when adding the flavors in. Too little cocoa and it won’t have a chocolate taste. Too much and it might taste bitter. If the chocolate ice cream tastes bitter, add a it more sugar.

This is a basic vanilla ice cream recipe. You can add cocoa to make it chocolate. But you can also:

- Bananas
- Plain Nonfat Greek yogurt

- Fresh banana slices

If you do not want to use artificial sweeteners, you can also sweeten this recipe with honey. If choosing honey, use 1/4 cup. This increases the point count by approximately 4 points, depending on the plan. This is why I tend to use a sugar substitute.
How to Make Banana Ice Cream
Peel and cut bananas into thin slices. Place banana slices in a plastic freezer-safe bag and place in the freezer until frozen.
Add yogurt, cream cheese, vanilla extract, and frozen banana slices to powerful blender or food processor and blend until completely smooth. (If necessary, add 2-3 tablespoons of water to the blender to loosen the mixture).
While blending, drizzle in honey or sugar substitute until thoroughly combined with other ingredients. Once blended, taste mixture and add more honey, if desired.
Transfer contents of the blender to a freezer-safe dish and cover tightly. Place in the freezer for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight.
To serve, remove from freezer and let sit on the counter for 5-10 minutes to soften. Scoop into individual chilled serving dishes and garnish with slices of fresh banana or other favorite toppings.
